Eä RPGS Development now underway.

With years of researching and experimenting, mulling over ideas and discussions, at long last digital pen is being applied to paper and the rules for the game system devoted to Role-playing in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth and beyond, is finally underway... Alpha-stage play testing begins August 2010.

Early drafts of the 3 versions of the Eä RPGS are currently in production and will be periodically posted as web pages and PDF files for review, commentary and revision. Play testers are being lined up for early Alpha testing some time in August 2010. It is hoped the system will be complete and ready to publish by Summer 2011.

Community participation and feedback is a key component to the development of this system. The 3 versions of this system are: Basic, Standard, and Advanced. All 3 versions are specifically designed to enhance the experience of role playing in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth and beyond.

The Eä RPGS Basic Version is designed to get new players, or those just interested in a quick game. The goal is for character development to only take 15-30 minutes total. The rules are stripped down to the bare necessities, so that players can focus on the story, and new players get an idea of role-playing gaming without being overwhelmed with rules, books, charts, etc. It only requires one six sided die, and a simple scale of 1 to 10.

The Eä RPGS Standard Version attempts to be a balance between details and speed of play, this will generally appeal to most gamers.

The Eä RPGS Advanced Version provides extensive detail for those gamers who enjoy that level of system development.
